As an essential business we are still open to serve our local community and customers as best we can. We are doing our upmost to maintain our usual customer service levels, please be patient with us while we operate in difficult circumstances!
We politely ask that all customers sanitise their hands upon entry, wear a face mask inside our shop and respect the two metre social distancing. We are still accepting both cash and card payments!

Bikes of all sizes are available to hire on-site, working on a first come, first serve basis. We have electric bikes, standard mountain bikes and hybrids… (We do have LOTS of bikes!)

Rik’s Bike Shed has a selection of parts and accessories, along with cycling equipment and clothing for men, women and children. We stock a range of funky helmets both kids and adult sizes – great souvenirs to take home from Drumlanrig. You can also fuel up on the energy bars and cold drinks in stock.
If you’re looking for a new bike, we are happy to help and advise. We usually have second-hand bikes from the hire fleet or we can order a new bike to suit your needs.
World Class Bike Trails
Rik has been cycling for 35+ years, and mountain biking for 25 of them. He has designed and built many of the trails on Drumlanrig estate, including the technical red and black routes. He has also worked on some of the best-loved bike trails and skills parks around Scotland including; Comrie Croft near Crieff, Mabie forest, Forest of Ae and more! Staff at the Bike Shed are happy to offer advice to new and experienced riders. We can help you find the best bikes and routes for you and give you maps to make sure you really enjoy your experience here at Drumlanrig.

Rik’s Bike Shed is located at Drumlanrig Castle, situated just off the A76 (Dumfries to Kilmarnock road), 17 miles north of Dumfries, and is signposted from the M74 (J14 southbound) and A702 at Abington and Elvanfoot. Just an hour away from Glasgow.
